When a short link is the right tool

A long address breaks the moment it leaves the browser: printed on paper it has to be retyped, read aloud it has to be spelled, pasted into a message it wraps across two lines and stops being clickable. It also carries whatever the original site appended to it — campaign parameters, a session identifier, the search query you used to find the page. A short link replaces all of that with seven characters that survive being retyped by hand.

Why links expire here

Every Qtyni link has an end date, chosen when you create it, between one month and twelve. Most shared links are opened within days of being sent, and keeping the rest alive indefinitely only preserves addresses whose destinations moved or disappeared years earlier. When the period ends the row is deleted outright rather than hidden, so a link nobody uses stops being anybody’s problem.

Why nothing is counted

Qtyni records no click data at all: no totals, no countries, no referrers, no devices. That removes a feature most shorteners advertise, and it is a deliberate trade rather than something unfinished. A link you share is usually shared onward by someone else, and counting those opens would mean building a record of people who never chose to use this service. If you need analytics, a shortener that offers them openly will serve you better.
